Crowning Thursday
Night At School
One of these young ladies has been selected by the
student body of Groom Schools to be crowned the 1987
Homecoming Queen during ceremonies tonight.
Homecoming Queen candidates are standing, Senior
Lezlie Sweatt; Junior, Suzanne Smith; Senior, Erin
Eschle; Sophomore, Staci Kotara and Junior, Karen
Bohr.

Opens Branch
In Groom
McLean Pharmacy has
opened a branch office in
Groom, called Groom Medi-
Station, it is located on
Martin and Front Streets
next to the Golden Spread
Grill. It will be open Monday
through Friday from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. and on Tuesday
will stay open until the
1 offices of Dr. Black and Dr.
Adkins close. The phone
number will be 248-7080.
The pharmacy will offer
free one day delivery and
can provide transfers on all

coronation will be followed
by a reception, bonfire and

Thursday’s coronation will
begin at 7:30 p.m. with
candelighters setting the
stage for the corwning of the
1987 queen. Candelighters
are Kelly Stroope escorted
by Rocky Crump and Judith
Ruthardt to be escorted by
James Miller.
Candidates for Homecom-
ing Queen are Lezlie Sweatt,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Sweatt; Erin
Eschle, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Eschle; Suzanne
Smith, daughter of Gwen
Harvey and D.E. Smith;
Karen Bohr, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bohr and
Staci Kotara, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Kotara.
Lezlie will be escorted by
Stoney Crump., She is a
senior at GHS, a member of
FHA, yearbook staff, French
Club and United Methodist
Youth. She is a cheerleader
this year and holds letters in
basketball, track and tennis.
Honors have included FFA
Junior Sweetheart, Miss
Carson County, first runner-
up; Miss Valentine; Tiger
Spirit; Regional qualifier in
track and UIL events; State
alternate in poetry; class
favorite; FHA president;
student council representa-
tive and yearbook editor.
Travis Homer will escort
Erin Eschle. She is a senior
and head cheerleader. She
will serve as an editor of the
yearbook this year and in
student council. She has
served as president of her
junior and senior class and
secretary/treasurer of the
student council. She has
been a state finalist in UIL
track and prose and persua-
sive speaking. She was the
1986 Miss Carson County,
citizen of the month last
April and received the
French G-award. She is also
an active member at United
Methodist Church and has
been selected to sing with
the choral group Spirit Wind
two summers.
Suzanne Smith is a junior
and Tiger Spirit for the
Tigers this year and will be
