Balsam of Wild Cherry and Tar.
A safe.speedy, and certain remedy fo coughs
colds, asthma,sore throat,bronchitis, consump-
tion, and all pulmonary complaints.
Statistics prove that over one quarter of
ali the adult mortality iu the LToited States,
proceeds in some manner from diseases of
the lungs. It is frightful to contemplate this
mass of corruption, suffering and death. As
blossoms ripen into fruit, so does a neglected
cold or cough terminate in consumption. It
is a hard thing to conquer in its later stages,
ft should be vigorously attacked at first,
Many articles of different virtues may alle.

Independence, Texas, May 16th, 1856.
Gentlemen : I fejjl it my duty to speak in
regard to your medicine. In 1856 I was at-
tacked with a violent «old, rapidly running
into consumption. I tried every medicine,
and all the physicians I could hear of, with
out relief, untri I hit your Balsam of Wild
Cherry and Tar. 1 was immediately bene-
fited. It saved my life. Gratefully yours,

"Hardonfield, N. J., April 20th.
"I was attacked by a severe pa:n in the
side, in the region of the liver. I suffered
intensely through the whole winter. During
all the time I was confined to my house, had
a violent cough, raised much bloody matter,
aud was supposed by myself and others to be
in the last stages of Consumption. The Feb-
ruary following, when apparently my life
was at a close, 1 procured a bottle of Park's
Balsam of Wild Cherry and Tar. As soon
as I commenced its use, I be/an to grow bet-
ter. The' soreness of my 6ide grew less, the
cough gradually left me, the profuse expec
toration and spitting of blood ceased, and
my general heálth became by degrees restor-
ed, I was soon enabled to resume my trade,
that of a carpenter, which I have continued
without interruption. I will further remark
that this remarkable cure was effected by on-
ly three bottles of the Balsam.
Truly, yours, THOMAS COZZENS."

IN CONSUMPTIVE SYMPTONS
'•Procrastination is the thief of time" in an
awful sense, as it shortens existence, and hur
ries the patient from time into eternity.
Thousands are weekly dying whose lives
might be saved by the timely use of Dr.
Park's Balsam or Wild Cherry and Tar. A
few weeks—a few days make a fatal differ-
ence iu the progress of Consumptive Symptons
The chances of success increase greatly
with the earliness of treatment. Although
Park's Balsam has performed cures in cases
seemingly desperate that are almost miracu-
lous, still it is advisable to tuke the Baliiam
on the appearance of the first symptons.

Dr. C. M. Jackson—Dear Sir: You suggest-
ed to me before leaving Philadelphia, to
take a few bottles.of your bitters aloncr, as
a preventive against yellow fever, which ia
now racing here and in New Orleans. I did
so, and used it freely on my route home. I
was accompanied by several Texians, who
also took it as prescribed, none of us having
had the fever except myself. All passed
through New Orleans trithont being attacked,
by the epidemic, and some of them whom Í
have since met, attribute their escape 1 'Sl
great meastise to the use of your excellent
specific. From what I have heard from oth-*
er sources, and my own experience, I hav«
no hesitation in saying T believe floofland's
German Bitteis, an excellent article for the
prevention of Xellow fever and many other
diseases peculiar to the South, if taken in
time and as directed. Yonrs trulv.

Philadelphia, Octocer 27, 1859.
Dr. C. M. Jackson, Dear Sir ; I sailed froae
this port in August lest, in the barque Reio*
deer, of which I am master, with a erew mt
ten men, bound to Havana. As I knew the
yellow fever was raving with great virulence
in that city, and had heard of the good ef-
fects of the Bitters in preventing the attacks
of that terrible disease, I provided myaeif
with a supply of it. Before reaching my
port, I commenced the administration of the
Bitters regularly to all en board. On reach-
ing Havana, I found a number of vessels ill
the haybor, among the crews of whieh the
Fever was commuting great ravages; oa
board of three of them not a soul was left
alive—the fever had carried all oft Natu-
rally great alarm prevailed. I am moat
happy to say that with tbe exeepeion of one
of my crew, who deserted in Havana, we
have all comE back safe and sound—- not one
of us having been attacked. I believe Hoof
land's German Bitters to be an excellent
medicine, and am satisfied of its salutary
effects as a preventive of yellow fever, as it
is a very unusual thing for a vessel with
many persons on board to visit the island ef
Cuba in August or September, end ret'irn
withont the loss of at least a portion of her

Dr, Jackson, Dear Sir: After mj return
from Mevico, I was seriously afflicted with
that terrible disease, whieh has earried to
the grave so many of my fellow soldiera,
chronic diarrhoea, accompanied with Neural-
gia, brought on by tbe elimate of Mexico,an«t
the mode of living while engaged in the
war. The relief I have obtained from the
use of H4ofland*s German Bitters isastoniah*
ing; and I most cheerfully have, and still eon*
tinue to recommend the Bitters to all whs
are similarly affected, believing that the ben-
efit that will result from their nse will be
