honors Miss Barbara Lewis
Misi Barbara Lewis, bride-
elect of William Sparkman
Eckles, was honored at a bri-
dal shower Saturday after-
noon in the Marvin Longhofer
home. Co-hostesses with Mrs.
Longhofer were Mrs. Horace
Rivers, Mrs. Duane Arnold,
Mrs. Ted Ropers, Mrs. Vernon
Cline, Mrs. Fred Spruell, Mrs.
Henry Borst, Mrs. G. W. Cro-
sier, Mrs. Dave Huyck, Mrs.
Kathryn Kent, Mrs. Roy Ses-
sions and Mrs. John Ball.
The honoree's chosen colors
of white and blue were car-
ried out in the table arrange-
ments. The table was laid
with a white linen cloth and
centered with an arrangement
of white carnations and pom
mums in a crystal bowl. Blue
candles in crystal holders and
pastel blue punch in a crystal
bowl carried out the white
and blue theme. Miss Lewis,
her mother, Mrs. Bob Lewis,
and Mrs. Bryan Eckles wore
corsages of white glamelias.
Refreshments of punch with
nineanole sherbet, party cook-
ies. mints and nuts were serv-
ed.

Paul Whitefield was honor-

day afternoon, July 16. He
and his guests enjoyed the
movie and then returned to
his home for games and re-
freshments of cake, ice cream
and punch. Party favors of
bubble gum cigars were pre-
sented to the guests.

was held Saturday evening,
July 15 in the home of her
daughter and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Jerry Lynn Schafer.
A buffet dinner was enjoy-
ed. The menu included meat
loaf, mashed potatoes, green
beans, hot rolls, cake and ice
cream, and iced tea.
After dinner the honoree
opened her gifts. The remain-
der of the evening was spent
in visiting.

Yankee team is
entertained
The Yankee Little League
team was entertained at a
backyard hamburger barbe-
cue at the Elton Miller home
Wednesday evening, July 19.
The menu included hamburg-
ers, chips, ice cream, lemon-
ade and Kool-aid.
