Beckham, St. Paul. Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Omohundro, El Paso; three sisters,
Mrs. Robert Sultan, Walters, Oklahoma.; Mrs. Ross Goodner, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Bird
Taylor, Westmorland, Tennessee; a brother; T. H. Gilleland, Oklahoma. City;
Funeral was held at George A. Brewer Funeral Chapel on November, 1939

Mrs. Clemmie Lumpkin was born December 27, 1857, in Linden, Texas and died there July 27,
1939. She is survived by one brother, Joe Camel, three step-children, Mrs. Roxie Walker, Miss
Lula Lumpkin, and Will Lumpkin, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Law's Chapel.
Mrs. Oscar A. Pearson died in Cottonwood, New Mexico on September 10. 1939. A pioneer of
the Cottonwood community, she was born in Oakland, Nebraska on February 21, 1889.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Senter, Houston, and Ralph Pearson of
Artesia; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Nelson, two brothers, August Nelson and Carl W.
Nelson, both of Artesia; two sisters, Mrs. Selma Thompson, and Mrs. Clarence Pearson, both of
Artesia; and four grandchildren.
Services were conducted in the Methodist Church of Artesia.
Mrs. J. B. Best, nee Alma McKee, was born in Polk County on February 11, 1893. She married
J. B. Best June 8, 1913, and then moved to Woodville, Texas. She died on September 15, 1939.
Survivors include, her husband, two children, Mrs. J. H. Kennesson, Jr and James Best, plus
brothers and sisters: Rev. W. A. McKee, Houston; J. H. McKee, Mrs. J. N. Young; Mrs. R., E.
Galloway; Mrs. J. H. David, Livingston; and Mrs. A. W. Harrison, Woodville.
Robert Franklin Broome was born in Pontotoc County, Mississippi May 17, 1858. He was
married to Miss Sarah Jane McDonald December 24, 1877. They had six children, three
daughters and three sons. He is survived by his wife and five children, Rev. W. L. Broome,
Durant, Oklahoma; Mrs. C. T. Floyd, Sartis, Mississippi; Mrs. N. T. Peak, Okmulgee,
Oklahoma; R. A. Broome, Okmulgee; and Rev. C. P. Broome, Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Preceding
him in death is the eldest, Mrs. T. L. Porter.
He died on September 24, 1939. Funeral services were conducted from the First Methodist
Church of Okmugee on September 25, 1939, and he was laid to rest in the Okmugee Cemetery.
Rev. Peter Calvin Gilstrap was born October 20, 1866, and died August 12, 1939. Bro. Gilstrap
was born in Cleveland Georgia. April 16, 1895 he married Miss Eda Mitchell near Bexar,
Arkansas. They had four children, two dying in infancy. He is survived by his wife, one son, F.
S. Gilstrap, one daughter; Mrs. Grace Keith, four grandchildren; and one brother, R. W. Gilstrap.
Services were held in the Mansfield Methodist Church.
Charles Pluenneke, son of Rev. Conrad Pluenneke, was born in Fredericksburg, Texas
December 28, 1860, and died there September 24, 1939. He married Miss Emille Lehmberg of
Castell, Texas, November 25, 1886. They had six children, five survive. Survivors include his
wife, two sons, Dr. Perry Pluenneke of Waco; Milton Pluenneke of Castell; three daughters, Mrs.01
