John Young, of Louisiana,

The prisoners, all of whom bad

ammunition, were disarmed
and the wounded cared for as
well as possible,and the march
to Purcell was taken lip. The
wagons and property of the
boomers were destroyed. The
gang were all Southerners,

Cleburne, Tex., April 22.—
The body of Mr. «Joe Sliaw was
brought iu to-day from Claien-
don, ou tha Port Worth and
Denver road, and buried in the
Cleburne oemetery. Mr, 8haw
died from an overdose of mor-
phine, taken with suicidal in-
tent. The cause of his rash act
is uuknown. He has been a
resident of Cleburne s<nce
childhood and was well know
by everybody iu the city.

Harrison issued his warrant to-
night for the arrest of Jeff
Brown, alias A. P. Seymour,
charged with infanticide. The
ground of the complaint is
fthatApril 1 a man and a woman
arrived in this city from Port
Worth and left a baby with a
colored woman to nurse plac
ing with the woman powders
with directions for the use of
the same, and the baby died
in great agonv alter taking the
powders. Sheriff Pord and
Constable Jsnkins havs gone
to Austin to serve the warrant.
The case has ths impress from
this standpoint of a startling
sensation in high life. Two of
the powders left are under
analysis, and and the dead
baby will be subjected to a
post mortem.
