SUICIDE.
Bud Fain, well known in McKinney,
shot himself three times, Monday,
through the heart, at a neighbor's
house near Celina where he had left his
sisters, ostensibly, to leave the com
munity as he said to the neighbor that
certain parties are • 'lying on me and I
have got to leave and I want you to look
after the children.' He then mount-*
ed his horse, rode a short distance, dis-
mounted and lay down on a clean spot
beside the road and deliberately shot
himself three times through the heart,
in plain view of his startled friend.
Fain was an industrious young man
and the support of a widowed mother
and orphan family of brothers and sis-
ters. One of the brothers is deaf and
dumb and we understand has served a
short term in the penitentiary, goinc
from Denton county. This brother and
Bud were once in the McKinney prison
for a short while about four years ago,
charged with a crime of which they
easily proved their innocence.
These humiliations to bis family kept
agog by the persistent and tireless
tongue of persecution, was too great a
disgrace for his sensitive nature to en-
dure and the unfortunate young victim
sought deliverance in self - destruction.
