Four men from the Rio
Grande City Volunteer Fire
Department attended at (10)
hour course in Fire Fighting
and Rescue in WeslacoT
January 8, 9,10,1975, put on by
the Texas A.M. Fire Extension
Service. Those attending from
5~° Grande City were J.D
VUlarreal, Reynaldo Carrera,
Leonel Garcia, and Chief 0 F
Guffey.
The New Fire Truck lias
arrived in Rio Grande City, and
is being held at the County
Warehouse, until the proper
papers and insurance can be
acquired.
"Hiis is a Twenty-Five (25)
year dream come true, for the
Rio Grande City Volunteer Fire
Department. It is a $31,800.00
rire Pump, capable of
delivering four (4) large
streams of water from a Fire
Plug. This truck will be used
only for Structural Fires.
The Volunteer Firemen have
answered three (3) Alarms in
the past week, they were 2 grass
£res and j tire in a
house trader.
Since our freezes is very dry
please Stop and Think before
you burn Trash, as the grass
fires can be very dangerous.
