♦ Good Nutrition
If you can't turn
teenagers on to a good diet
with talks about nutrition,
try pitching increased
energy and a healthy ap-
pearance, nutritionist
Marilyn Peterson of the
University of Washington,
Seattle, suggested at a
meeting of the North Pacific
Pediatric Society.
The vitamin deficiencies
in the fast-foods often eaten
by adolescents can be made
up by fruits and vegetables,
if these are offered as
attractive snacks. Water
i consumption is very im-
portant in young athletes to
compensate for water loss
and to aid nutrient ab-
sorption, Ms. Peterson said.
Alaniz, Santiago Olivarez,
Bobby Saenz, Gilberto
Lopez, Jr., and Benancio
Barrera and Jaime Garcia.
