There is little in this little frontier town to convince
one that it is the site of a future city. Nothing but the fact
that it is situated at the pass in the mountains that lie be-
tween Mexico and the United States gives it any promise
whatever. But certain men have the prophetic vision and
the foresight to see great things in store for El Paso del
Norte and they have bought property in it. The copper
mines in Arizona have not been discovered yet and there
ia no rnilrond nothing but a gtage-coách line. The town's
finances are managed through one bank. There u only one
buiineaa atreet and no fine home whatever.. It ia headquar
ter! for the moat lawleas element on the border wild reckless
imponible to. keep in order except by a vigilance committee.
The same town but how different! Those who had
the foresight to realize what was coming to El Paso del
Norte and the courage to act upon their conclusions have
realized rich rewards or left them to their children. Their
property has now multiplied in value many times. There
is more promise in the city more reason to believe in its
future greatness than ever before. Immense copper mines
have been discovered in Arizona; eight railroads converge
hete; the fruits of California and the ores of Arizona are car-
ried through here in exchnnge for the manufactures of the East.
There are many business streets and miles of beautiful resi-
dences. The city is now headquarters fortest of the business
between the Southwest and Mexico and ths North and East.

"Opportunities Were Fine In Those Days"
Do you ever sit and mourn over the lost
opportunities of the past? Well that's all
right most of us do at one time or an-
other. But it's a great deal more profit-
able to look around for the opportunities
that can be grasped TODAY and to
find and take advantage of them. There
is no lack of opportunity it lies all about
Us but many fail to see it and they look

apon those who succeed with envy c-ojn-

Doubtless there were a number of peo-
ple in El Paso in the early days who could
buy real estate in the little town for' prac-
tically nothing who were bemoaning their
fate at not having been in on the ground
floor of the gold strikes in California or
the discovery of silver in Nevada not

seeing the gold mine in good solid ground
that they walked over every day. .
It was natural that they didn't see it
tilings didn't look so very promising in
those days. But how different it is now!
Anyone can see promise in El Paso today
if he will only investigate look up records
and keep up with the times. For facts
