The biology department
would like to announce the
winner of the Sister Clodovia
Lockett Premedical Scholarship
for 2006. The recipient is
Damalie Namponye.
The winner for the Dr.
Frank J. Doe Scholarship
Program at the University of
Chicago is Erika Urban.
John Rhodes, English major
and Kara Maggiore, history
major, will both travel to Rome
to work as Rome Assistant's on
the Due Santi Campus.
Jennifer Van House,
English major, will marry
Brian Hutcheson in June, and
the two will travel to Japan to
teach English through the JET
Programme, sponsored by the
Japanese government.
Sara Erickson will continue
her study of English at the
graduate level at Catholic
University of America.
Kate Harkins and Eli Danze,
will receive the sacrament
of matrimony on July 1st,
2006. Kate Harkins, daughter
of alumni Dan Harkins
and Peggy Fagan Harkins,
will graduate with a BA in
elementary education and
plans to teach in an elementary
school in the Dallas area. Eli
Danze, brother of alumni
Teresa Lemieux and Olivia
Demkowicz, will earn his BA in
business leadership and ethics.
He will continue his studies
for an MBA at the Graduate
School of Management. The
couple will be married in San
Antonio at the Chapel of the
Incarnate Word.
Caitlin Forst, theology
major, will start graduate
studies in Rome at Pontifica
Universita della Santa Croce.
During this three-year program
she will live in Italy and
study in the Catholic Social
Communications Program.
After the three years, she may
stay and work on her PhD.
Aaron Linderman, history
major, will study at the Institute
of World Politics, working
towards an MA in Statecraft
& National Security, with a
specialization in Intelligence.
Analezia Bonda will be
attending graduate school at
UD seeking a master's degree in
international marketing. She
will be working full time as a
market development specialist
for American Eurocopter, the
number one manufacturer 0f
helicopters in the world.
Mary Kolner will be entering
the English PhD program at
Baylor University.
Graduation
Annoucements
The Forty-Seventh
Annual Commencement
of the University of Dallas
class of 2006 will begin
May 4 with a convocation
honoring seniors at 3:30
p.m. in Lynch Hall. All are
welcome to attend.
The celebration will
continue May 13 with the
Baccalaureate Mass at 6
p.m. in the Church of the
Incarnation. That evening,
the President's Gala will
honor graduates, parents
and faculty beginning, at
7:30 p.m. in Haggar. The
final commencement will
be held at 9 a.m. on the
mall, May 14. The entire
university community is
invited to attend.
Seniors voted last week
to determine who will
speak at the ceremonies.
Congratulations to the
faculty and student who
will be addressing the class
of 2006.
