Themed and Karaoke! Come join
us for a night of fun!!
The annual ice skating event at
the Galleria is set for Wed, Dec
6,There will be a shuttle bus that
ileave from the tower at 4:15pm
for anybody who wants to do
their Christmas shopping or just
hang out. Also, the Galleria will
be closed, so we'll have a private
party at the ice skating center
from until 11:15. The bus will be
shuttling people back and forth
every hour until its last trip from
the Galleria to the University
at 11:30. Don't forget to wear
your cheesy grandma Christmas
sweaters! Each student who wants
to skate needs to pay $3.00 at
the rink for ice skate rental.
Everything else is free!

Nineteen students and
twelve members of the faculty,
staff, and their families turned
out on Nov 18 to open up a
new trail and repair old ones.
Approximately a third of a mile
of new trail was opened and a
mile was restored.
Senior physics major Brie
Pepin received an award
and a J200 check from the
American Physical Society at the
University Of Texas at Arlington
in October for the presentation
of research he conducted at
Michigan State University in the
summer of 2006.
On December 16 at 1 p.m.
Professor Lyle Novinski will
give a lecture on icons at the
Dupree Theater at the Irving
Arts Center. The Arts Center is
currently displaying a collection
of 18th and 19th century Russian
icons. Both the lecture and
display are without cost.
Timothy Noone, from the
Catholic University of America,
will give the 2007 Aquinas
Lecture, entitled "Nature,
Freedom, and Will: Sources for
Philosophical Reflection." He:
will address the relationship
of nature and human action,
focusing on the figures of
Avicenna, Averroes, Aristotle,
and Scotus. The lecture will be
Monday January 29, at 7:30 PM
in Lynch Auditorium.
Earlier this month, UD
President Dr. Frank Lazarus and
Bishop Alvaro Corrada of the.
Diocese of Tyler. Texas signed
an agreement concerning the
formation of the diocese's lay
ministers. In this agreement,
UD's Institute for Religious and
Pastoral Studies will provide lay
ministers with a series of classes,
lasting three years, in a diocesan
program which "incorporates
intellectual, pastoral, spiritual
and human formation
components called for by the
United States Bishops."
Student Government would
like to invite everyone to the
annual SG Christmas party! It will
be in Haggar Foyer on Thursday
Dec.7th from 5pm to 7pm. Come
join us for free tasty treats,
wonderful Christmas music, and
take your picture with Santa!
Last week we celebrated staff
and faculty members with a
reception in Upstairs Haggar.
Despite the wintery mix, there
was still much gaiety and liveliness
through the halls of Haggar.
Thank you to all of those who
serve us everyday. It really makes
our lives that much more enjoyable
and pleasant!
