The Travis coiinty Democratic

for the legislature.
Hon. (leorge C'iark, at the Hallas
conference was correct when he said :
"There vim no ground for strife in
the democratic party this year. There
were differences and radical differen-
ces, among democrats, but had the
true old democratic" method been fol-
lowed by these partisans; had the
democrats of the Stale been invited
to come together, as has been their
way from the beginning, to express
their sentiments upon every question
and to send their representatives to
the state convention, every demo-
crat in Texas would have walked up,
fought his fight and abided by the
will of the majority." Should disas-
ter befall the Democratic party in
Texas this fall, Mr. Dudley can
truthfully say. "I did it, with my
little hatchet." He is justly entitled
to the condemnation of every honest
democrat in Texas, and when the
and leaders that tends to widen the

true democrat is for harmony, and
to a man will abide the action of the

when the nati mal convention shall
have spoken. The Manner is one of j
