APPROPRIATIONS-SUPPLEMENT TO GOVERNOR AND
ATTORNEY GENERAL
CHAPTER 2

An Act making supplemental appropriations to the Governor and the Attorney
General; repealing any laws in conflict; and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the General Revenue
Fund in the State Treasury to the Attorney General of Texas for operation
of the Attorney General's office the sum of Eighty-two Thousand Dollars
($82,000).
Sec. 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund
in the State Treasury to the Governor of the State of Texas for operation
of the Governor's office the sum of Sixty-five Thousand Dollars ($65,000).
Sec. 3. There is hereby appropriated out of the General Revenue
Fund in the State Treasury to the Governor for a study of higher educa-
tion needs of the State of Texas the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,-
000).
Sec. 4. Any laws or parts of laws in conflict with the provisions of
this Act are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict only.
Sec. 5. The need for these supplemental appropriations and the
crowded condition of the Calendar in each House create an emergency
and an imperative public necessity that the Constitutional Rule requiring
bills to be read on three several days in each House be suspended, and
said Rule is hereby suspended, and this Act shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, and it is so enacted.
Passed the House, January 21, 1963: Yeas 123, Nays 23; passed sub-
ject to the provisions of Section 49a, Article III, of the Constitution
of the State of Texas; passed the Senate, January 24, 1963: Yeas 30,
Nays 0; passed subject to the provisions of Section 49a, Article III,
of the Constitution of the State of Texas.
