An Act authorizing the Board for Texas State Hospitals and Special Schools
to convey and transfer to the Texas Forest Service, a part of the Texas
Agricultural and Mechanical College System, certain land in Cherokee
County, Texas; and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
Section 1. The Board for Texas State Hospitals and Special Schools
is hereby authorized to convey and transfer to the Texas Forest Service,
a part of the Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College System, the fol-
lowing described tracts of land located in Cherokee County, Texas, and de-
scribed by metes and bounds as follows:
TRACT NO. 1:
A tract of land situated in Cherokee County, Texas, being a part of the
J. S. Evans Survey, Abstract Number 266 described as follows:
BEGINNING at the S. W. corner of No. 402, a hickory 8 inches bears
S 23 E 5vrs. a post oak 20 inches bears S 63 E. 6 vrs.;
THENCE West 700 vrs. with S. B. line of No. 402 to corner, a pine 18
inches bears N. 43 W. 6 vrs., a pine 15 inches bears S. 45 E. 12 vrs.;
THENCE S. 307 vrs. to N. B. line of No. 150, a lynn 18 inches bears N.
16 W. 6 vrs., a pine 18 inches bears N. 61 W. 8 vrs.;
THENCE East 930 vrs. to N. E. corner of No. 150, continuing 1580 vrs.,
corner a pine 12 inches bears S. 70 W. 9 vrs., a blackjack 6 inches N. 76 W.
8 vrs.;
THENCE N. 1158 vrs. to S. E. corner of a 100-acre tract off of the
North end of the Evans Survey;
THENCE West 880 vrs. to E. B. line of No. 402, being the S.W. corner
of said 100-acre tract;
THENCE South 951 vrs. to place of BEGINNING, and containing 220
acres, more or less, and being the same land conveyed to William Clemens,
L. M. Oppenheimer, and S. M. Fry, Commissioner of the Texas State Peni-
tentiaries for the State of Texas by Mrs. M. A. Boyett, Administratrix of
the community estate of J. B. Boyett, deceased, by deed dated January 18,
1908, recorded in Vol. 51, page 154 in the Deed Records of Cherokee County,
Texas.
TRACT NO. 2:
A tract situated in the G. W. Brashear Survey, Cherokee County, Texas
about five (5) miles southwest from the Town of Rusk, Cherokee County,
Texas and being the same land conveyed to the State of Texas by Sarah
Richards by deed of record in Vol. H-2, page 443, Deed Records, Cherokee
County, Texas.
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of the G. W. Brashear Survey,
a Pine Knot for corner from which a S. G. 7 ins. brs. S. 60 W. 8/10 of a
vara, a S. G. 6 ins. brs. N. 45 E. 1 vara;
THENCE North with the West Boundary line of the G. W. Brashear
Survey and the East Boundary line of the Jas. Selman and Wm. Cornett
Survey 954 vrs. to the Northwest corner of the State of Texas tract and the
Southwest corner of the T. H. Cobble tract; a stake for corner from which
a Hackberry 4 ins. brs. N. 88 deg. E. 5 8/10 vrs.;
