68th LEGIS-2nd CALLED SESSION
WHEREAS, In addition to his many other commitments, Mr. Hill has headed local
United Cerebral Palsy and March of Dimes campaigns, served as a volunteer with the
Austin Council on Alcoholism and the Travis County Adult Probation Project, and taught
government at Concordia Lutheran College; he is currently president of the Southwest
Texas State University Alumni Association and serves as a trustee of St. Stephen's
Episcopal School; and
WHEREAS, This fine man is an active member of St. Luke's on the Lake Episcopal
Church where he serves as a lay reader, senior warden, and a member of the vestry; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hill is a loving husband and father; his lovely wife, Donna Petty Hill, is
a teacher at Westwood High School, and they have two outstanding daughters, Carolee and
Julie; and
WHEREAS, The exemplary personal qualities of this notable individual have served as
an inspiration to the many people who have had the privilege of knowing him and working
with him over the years, and the people of Texas have greatly benefitted from his excellent
leadership while he was in the Texas Legislature; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the 68th Legislature of the State of Texas, 2nd Called Session,
commend the Honorable Gerald Hill on his outstanding legislative service and sincerely
wish him, his wife, Donna, and his daughters, Carolee and Julie, good fortune throughout
the coming years; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hill as a token
of highest esteem from the Texas Legislature.
