OBITUARY
Mrs. Minnie Roach Singletary was born and reared in
Sweet Home Community, Guadalupe County, Texas,
July 29, 1885. She was the eldest of four children born
to the union of Mr Charles Roach and Mrs. Theresa
Thomas Roach. She was preceded in death by three bro-
thers, Lincoln, Caesar, and Willie Roach.
Other brothers and sisters were Nancy Roach Richard"
son, Lizzie Roach Miller, Charles Roach, Jr., Augusta
Roach Yale, Mattie Roach Fields and Tina Roach
Brooks.
Mrs. Singletary was married to Mr. James Polk Single-
tary in 1907. To this union were born Willie L. Single-
tary, Palestine, Texas; Massaree Singletary Walker, San
Antonio, Texas; Dudley C. Singletary (deceased) and
Henry James Singletary, Seattle, Washinngton. She is
survived by one aunt, Mrs. Tinge Giles of San Jose, Califv
eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host
of nieces, nephews and relatives.
Mrs. Singletary was a life long and faithful member
of Sweet Home Baptist Church. During her lifetime at
Sweet Home, she was very active in the community and
was a skilled craftsman in needlework, quilting and ce-
ramics. She was a model wife, mother, grandmother and
Christian worker.
