Coach Cecil Grigg has issued a first
call for baseball players. All prospects
should meet him at the Field House
half. We still believe that the Owls
will cause trouble, and with Klind-
worth back they should show improve-
ment.
The on, heartening result of the tripj™^ at 2:30 *• m-
to Aggieland was the speetaculur per- ;
formance of Frank Carswell in the ;
freshman game. Those one-handed
swishes are lots of fun to watch. He j
looks like another Jack Gray in the '■
making. If he can only keep up that
pace in varsity competition, the Owls
should regain their form of '34 and '35 i

A hard-fighting Band bunch came
through Thursday afternoon to down
the favored Engineers by a score of 6
to 2. The game was practically as
close as it sounded, with the Engi-
neers showing the assembled few a fine
running game, while the Musicians
had to take to the air to make their
score.
The game was the hardest-fought we
have seen this year, with quite a few
casualties. The most serious was
Charlie Moser, who received a broken
leg on a line plunge off tackle. Up to
the time of his injuiry. Charlie had
been playing a bang-up game, and was
bearing the brunt of the attack while
in there.
Hiegel's deadly passing, with La-
Grone and Phillips on the receiving
end, wa* the reason for the one and
only touchdown of the game, imme-
diately following the half. Matlage re-
turned the kick-off to the Engineer's
40. Hiegel passed to Phillips for 23
yards.
Hiegel's next pass to LaGrone was
good for 20. After a couple of tri?s at
the line, Hiegel shot a pass to Phillip*
over center for the score. Young's at-
to convert was blocked.
outstanding
He was the whole attack tor the En-
gineers, although Burklin did some
good running off tackle. It was Cook,
however, who passed, ran, and fought
his way to the 8-yard line, only to see
the Band take over on downs. The
only score tor the Engineers came late
in the game, when LaGrone, in a
very heady play, took a safety rather
than take the danger of having a punt
blocked for a touchdown.
