LMr Favored Over Owls Tomorrow
Tigers Out To Avenge
List Year's 35-20 Defeat
Dr. Nielsen
By Thresher Sports Staff
The green Rice Owls go looking for victory number one
again tomorrow night, playing potent LSU Tigers in Baton
Rouge. The Bengals showed surprising power in beating a
rightly rated Alabama squad last week, 13-7. The Owls per-
formed more or less as expected in their loss to Clemson, with
mistakes accounting for the
margin.

35-20, adds the revenge motive to
the Owl offensive starters. Rice,
with a large but inexperienced
squad, will be looking for the magic
the Tiger attack. The Owls last win combination but it will probably be

10-7 decision.
The Owls may be doomed to dis-
appointment this year. Last year's
LSU squad had a big hole at quar-
terback, but this year the play of
letterman Jimmy Barton at the
man-under post has been excellent.
Jim Roshto's shift from defense to
offense has given the Bengal at-
tack a lift. Still arqund are fellows
