Then wo went over to the
Austin Municipal Auditorium and
went through it. This is very
beautiful building and i.- cer
■jioii\ a good addition to All-
an.
Next, the group boarded the
buser- atxi \vi nt to the Austin
Police Department building.
There a < were told how the
Department operate- and were
shown many interesting things.
Vhili " thi' jail, several of
-Jie 4 H'er.- decided it might be
taster to stay out than to get
out. At any ratr. we hope that
4-11 Club member and othei
boys and girls will observe the
aws and rules of good citizen-
ship and stay on the outside
ooking in rathet than on the
:nsidt looking out Generally,
:he view is rather nad from a
jail window.
Another rule of good citizen-
ship— gnod sportsmanship and
courtesy—was exhibited and
practiced at Barton Springs
where tin 4-H'ei - went swim
ming. Although the day was
very hot. the one- that went
sv umirig werv strictly cool. The
picnic iunch at Zilker I'ark was
also refreshing
After lunch, wi were off to
■complete our toui. The next
nop u.- the I'. S. Fish Hatch
ery at I20."> Haskell Street. Even
a person that hardly ever fishes
would have been exicited by the
iarge ba s that were being fed.
That was really a sight to make
J H'er- -tart wanting to save
'.heir allowance for a rod and
reel, lures, sinkers, and such
articles. Some of us even wished
or a cane pole and a can of
worms. W< learned a lot about
fish but -aw a NO fishing -igii
■«o we got back on the bus and
headed for the next stop
Oui next and last stop was
the Texas Department of Public
safety. The toui of the Depart
rnefi* v. a very interesting and
informative. One thing that wa.-
pointed out was that the De
oartment of Public Safety <a.-
well as other law enforcement
agencies > helps protect the in-
nocent as well a- apprehend the
guilty.

Summer Snowfall in the Everglades
The «ummer dusk* near Everglades City, Florida are filled
with "snow"!
It's the snow-white, graceful flocks of White Ibises spiral-
ling downward to their evening p~
rooBts on the National Audubon
Society's Duck Rock Refuge at
•unset.
A true wonder of nature, this
spectacular sight has been dup-
licated for centuries, as thou-
sands of birds follow their mys-
terious instincts to the tiny
island.
But the White Ibises are only
part of the dazzling airborne
display. Joining them are flocks
of Common and Snowy Egrets,
threat and Louisiana Herons,
I'eJUfans, Cormorants and Ro
aeate Spoonbills addinK a riot
of color and motion to the fad-
in - light.
Further north, at Corkscrew
Swamp Sanctuary another
breathtaking wonder looms
across the landscape. Here, at
the Northern tip of Big Cypresn
Swamp, huge virgin cypresses
rise in a spire like fashion over
a landscape of exotic orchids,
spectacular ferns and air
plants. It leaves you breathless!
This year, as in the past, the
National Audubon Society has
arranged special tours from
Miami that include either or
both of these magnificent at-
tractions as part of their wild-
life conservation, public educa-
tion program.
Details are available by

Society. 13 McAllister Arcade,
