for the arrest and conviction of
p e r s o n who committed two
felony offenses by shooting two
head of cattle belonging to Mrs.
W, Hess. Cattle- were shot with
a 30-30 rifle between Bastrop
and Rosanky on the evening
of Thursday, March 22, 1962,
believed to have been between
the hours of 5 and 7 P. M.

A discussion of the nroposed
new 200-acre lake in the; Has-
tro; State Park revealed that
necessary data is being accu-
mulated to be presented to the
State Park- Board in the near
future. Grady Tuck Sr. is
chairman of that project.
N. R. Simpson reported that
the possibility of Bastrop's be-
coming a part of the United
Fund, whereby the numerous
fund drives are combined into
one effort each year, is under
.-erious consideration.
A clean up campaign in the
city was urged, with an appeal
to property owners to clean up
their vacant lots, and suggest-
ing that a little painting up
and fixing up would add great-
ly to the appearance of the
town.
It was suggested that the
Junior Chamber of Commerce
take over the refurbishing of
the Bastrop float, getting it
in shape for entry in central
Texas parades and celebrations
during the spring and summer.
The Bathing Beauty Contest,
an attraction of Bastrop's An-
nual Homecoming and Rodeo
sponsored jointly by the Cham-
ber and t'-.,- Kasiiop Lions Club,
