with her daughter and family, Mr.

Debbie, accompanied their mother
and grandmother home and spent
the weekend in Arlington.
Mrs. Odiome and Mrs. Melnnis
attended HemisFair one day last
week.
Mr. Frank Alexander of Talpa
spent Saturday with his brother.

their sister, Mrs. Lee Williams, in
the afternoon.
Mrs. Cliff Drinkard of Austin
and mother. Mrs. Frank Alexan-
der of Talpa made a brief visit in
the Lee Alexander Itome that after-

Mrs. Eddie Neuman and boys,
Mark, Scott and Mike, of Brook-
shire were Sunday guests of their
parents and grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. ,T. R. Mitcham.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Oakes went
to San Antonio Saturday to meet
i. vends who were neighbors to
them in Odessa. Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Alvis of Los Angeles,
California, wore in San Antonio at-
tending HemisFair.
They came homo with the Oakes
and spent Sunday night. Mis.
Oakes took them back to .San An-
lonio Monday were they were to
catch a plane for Miami, Florida.
Mrs Dewey Turner and Mrs Leo
Alexander spent Friday in Austin
visiting with Mrs. B. J. Longshore
and Betty.

BAZAAR IS RIG SUCCESS
A record crowd attended the an-
nual Homecoming Bazaar at Sa
cred Heart Parish, Rockne, Septem
ber 1. held on the parish grounds.
Winners of the cash prizes award-
ed in the evening were C. W. Tramp
of SniithvilW, winner of tho J60.00
grand prize: Bob Ijinford of Aus-,
tin winner of the J2S.OO prize. Win- 1
nlng $20.00 each were Bob Burleson
of Round Rock. Carlos Juarez of
Lockhart. Ray Quinn of San An-
tonio. and James Oruhman of Rock-
ne. Winning J10.00 each were R
E Jenkins of Bastrop. Becky Allen
of Bastrop. J. E Hemphill of San
Antonio, and Alois Hoffman of
Rockne.

Gentlemen Band from Austin. Pla-
yers in the newly organized Hand,
which will play for dances in the
area include Leon Hemphill for-
merly of Red Rock, Billy Fritz,
Leon Rector of Smithviile and Da-
vid Cannon of Elgin. Dun Tucker
of Rockne also played with the
group at the Bazaar.

Miss Adeliene Bartsrh received a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Ed-
ucation at commencement exer-
cises hold August 24 at Southwest
Texas State College.

Miss Bartsch is teaching English

and is residing in Victoria.

Young Homemakers
The Young Homemakers held
their monthly meeting on Tuesday,
September *1, at Mina High School.
Mrs. Jim Rogers, president, pro
