Club News
By Mr*. Phil Jolly
The Club has another first to
chalk up on their record. We
made our first parade Saturday
morning with about one hundred
members and friends, and we got
a white ribbon for which we
are very proud. Although it was
far from being the top, we are
happy that we placed at all. We
will know the ropes a little better
next time and watch out and keep
your eyes open because we have
some of the best children, and
adults too, in the business riding
with us. I have received many
calls from people telling me
how great we were and how
pretty our girls were.
one of our own members,
little Kathy Smith, won the best
dressed riders title in the Home-
coming parade.
We all had a ball even after
getting a call at almost midnight
telling us to have the Club at
the high school by 9 o'clock
to be judged instead of 10. We
were in the saddle for four hours,
puppies began to howl inside of
new boats and rank horses just
brought in from months of free-
dom began toget fidgetty. Clyde's
double barrel shot gun went off
a couple of times and we began
to think we would have a rodeo
on the high school lawn. The
parade announcer forgot to in-
troduce Our Queen and Princess
but we have a big heart so we
will forgive him this time.
Now bend an ear. kids. We
have an invitation to go trail rid-
ing with the 1-11 Club next Sun-
day afternoon at 2 o'clock, so
we won't have our regular Sun-
day afternoon riding. This Sun-
day, at 3 o'clock, we will go
to the arena on the hill and
join the riders there, so get
old Bill slicked and shined up
and ride him a little this week
so he won't be sore and you won't
have to eat standing up.
