10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The cost
to adopt is $85 for dogs and $55 for cats and includes

Dallas County medical director
to speak on LGBT medical issues
Dr. John Carlo, medical director for the Dallas
County Department of Health and Human
Services, will be a speaker and panel member
for a presentation on Thursday, April 24, explor-
ing how to locate LGBT-friendly physicians and
what LGBT people need to know in dealing
with hospitals and insurance companies.
Other panel members include registered
nurses Linda Vozzella and Michael Man' and an
attorney from Lambda Legal Defense and
Education Fund.
The event, presented for the LGBT communi-
ty by Gilda's Club through a grant from the
Lance Armstrong Foundation, will be held in
the Community Room at Gilda's Club, 2710
Oak Lawn.
It will begin with a free meal following by the
panel discussion and a question-and-answer
session.
The event is open to the public and all inter-
ested people are invited to attend.

Guys and Dolls team to host
garage sale benefitting Lifewalk
The Guys and Dolls AIDS LifeWalk team will
hold its annual garage sale May 9-10, from 8
a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3975 Boca Bay Drive in Dallas.
All proceeds from the sale benefit AIDS
Arms' 2008 LifeWalk, and Guys and Dolls are
