forest floor, so I know what peace is.
I have dwelt in the valley of rememberance on the
hill oj home, so I know what love is.
I have seen the Miracle of Spring, the fruition of
Summer, and the beauty of Autumn followed by
repose of Winter, so I know what life is.
I have cried unto God with my voice and He gave
ear to me, so I know that prayer is...

OBITUARY

GUS A. TAYLOR was born August 2, 1915, to
the late Mr. Gus S. Taylor adnd Mrs. Camilla
Madison Taylor. At a very early age he was christ-
ened at Saint Paul United Methodist Church
where he worked in many church activities. He
attended public schools in San Antonio, Texas and
graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School,
lie was a well known athlete, as well as an excel-
lent scholar. He attended Texas College in Tyler,
Texas.
He served his community in many capacities. He
was instrumental in organizing the Boy's Club of
San Antonio.
He was united in marriage to Ms. Helen Hodge
of Austin, Texas, July 11, 1959.
He united with Downs Memorial Methodist
Church in 1961. At Downs he had served in many
capacities. He was the chairperson of the ad-
ministrative board and trustee. An active member
of the financial committee, United Methodist Men,
Stewardship Board, and the Nominating
Committee.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Helen A
Taylor; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn L. Jackson, a host
of other relatives and friends.
