It is ray understanding that Mr. Frank Briscoe is resigning froa the
office of District Attorney of Harris County, Terns , later this month.
I am writing to you to urge -feat you appoint Mr. Carol Vance to serve
as our District Attorney until the next election* Mr. Vance is held in
high esteem lay the latin Americans of Harris County. 2 have known him since
he began to practice lair in Harris County and 1 have found Ma to be an
able lawyer and a man of the highest principles and integrity.
You once said in one of your talks here that Harris County is
a place of many different factions® I a® of the firm "belief that in
Mr. Carol Vance you will find the man that can best represent the 'best
intersts of Harris County and of the many peoples that cor<ipr*ee our
