G--Hopeless failure, must d'op the course.
D is required for passing. An E represents a con-
dition upon a course. If this condition is made as
a mid-term grade it may be raised by a grade of C
or above at the end of the terma. If the condition is
made at the end of the term it may be removed by a
grade of C or above on some other term's work pro-
vided the course is a continuous course. An F rep-
resents a failure on the course up to that point. Oc-
casionally it is possible to raise an F made at mid-
term to a passing grade at the end of the term. But
an F on a final or term grade means that the course
must be repeated. A G means the student must drop
that course.
Grade Points far Graduation: In order to gradu-
ate from the institution it is not sufficient that the
student merely make passing grades on all courses.
For purposes of credit toward graduation a course
completed with a grade of "A" bears the value of
three points; a course completed with a grade of"B"
has a value of two points; a course completed with
a grade of "C" has a value of one point; the course
completed with a grade of "D" stands as a complete
course and counts as credit but has no point value.
In order to graduate a student must have as many
points as courses to his credit. In other words he
must overage "C" or above throughout his course in
McMurry.
Eligibility for Participation in Athletics: To be
eligible to participate in athletics a student must be
carrying a reasonable course and passing in from
two thirds to three fourths of it. An academy stu-
dent must be carrying four subjects and passing in
three of them. Last year under the five hour course
system a college student was required to carry three
full courses and to pass in two of them. No student
is granted an athletic letter in any sport o~ the right
to wear, an athletic sweater who does not keep his
grades up to the required standard to the end of the
term in which he participated in the sport. For in-
stance, a student may not permit his grades to slump
after football season is over and then receive a let-
ter for his work on the athletic field. Incidentally,
