WHAT OMRS
SAY ABOUT US
Panhandle Press Likes Hereford
Too. And Says So in Blush Pro-
during Words to The Brand.
That Hereford is recognized as a
good town on account of the paper
published in its borders, is a claim
which may easily be shown, but that
the Panhandle Press recognizes the
Brand as a progressh e little country
weekly was brought to light last
week when a dozen or more praised
its efforts in highly complimentary
terms and incidentally admitted that
they Liked Hereford Too.
Here's the Lockney Beacon which
says:
The Hereford Brand issued a
State Fair special last Friday. Six-
teen pages of real gocd reading and
no extra cost to the reader. Trie j
best feature was a green county map
of Texas enclosed by a write-up and
photographic reproductions of some
of the products of the Panhandle.
The following compliment from
the Stanton Reporter comes like a
kiss in the dark and was least ex-
pected after that "old-time spank-
ing" which The Reporter attempted
to administer at a 200 mile range
last week.
A special edition of The Hereford
Brand just received is an excellent
newspaper undertaking and reflects
credit on the management as well as
on the section in which it is issued.,
One special feature of interest to
Stanton folks is the large two color
map of Texas showing the route in ,
heavy lines of the Colorado, Here-'
ford & Gulf Ry. from Adrian via
Hereford, Stanton. San Angelo,
Menardville and Kerrville. New
interest in this road is being revived
and we understand the financial part
of it has at last been arranged.
If it were not for indulging in
slang, The Brand would feel like
saying "Oh you Canadian Record"
after reading this:
The Hereford Brand got out a
"State Fair Special" last week that
was a thing of beauty. The Brand
gets out the best paper in the state
as far as the mechanical make-up
and appearance is concerned.
But here comes another one from
that live sheet in the north-eastern
corner of the Panhandle, The Dal-
hart Texan, and right here The
Brand wants to state that Dalhart
ought to be proud of her paper, for
it is certainly "a Booster of Boost-
ers" for the Panhandle in general,
and Dalhart in particular.
The Hereford Brand of last week
was a work of mechanical art and
its views and descriptions of the
Panhandle country will do much
to give its readers a correct concept-
ion of this Plains country, though
The Brand is forced to admit its in-
ability to do the subject justice. The
Hereford Commercial Club sent a
large display of farm products to the
Texas State Fair and will be sure to
bring home some ribbons. This is-
sue of the Brand contains some very
valuable historical sketches.
Oh see who's here ! Its the Bul-
lard Herald, and a good paper, too,
with G. B. Whitley running the
ranch. It has this to say :
The Hereford Brand came to us
this we< k a 16-page special State
Fair edition, which is the neatest,
best printed papers that we have
seen lately. It shows that the bus-
iness men of that town are alert
when an opportunity presents itself
to advertise their town and country.
