13th Tests
Efficiency
In The Field
The 13th Spt. Bde. went to the
field last week to test its opera
tional efficiency in an exercise
which also served as a prelude
to this week's activities when
the brigade functioned away
from garrison.
A full complement of officers
and enlisted men performed
their normal duties in the
various sections which included
adjutant general personnel
staff judge advocate security
plans and operations finance
and services.
Other sections in the field
were chaplain maintenance
and inspector general.
The exercise in which the 13th
Spt. Bde. is participating this
week is a continuation of the
Caballo Blanco problem con
ducted last October.
During that simulated combat
training aggressors forced the
1st and 2nd Armd. Div. with
their supporting units to
withdraw and to regroup some
distance away from the initial
base camp.
In the Caballo Blanco II the
divisions with the 13th Spt. Bde.
again performing its combat
support mission attempted to
retake the lost territory and to
inflict heavy casualties upon the
enemy.
