Bt:uNKT. April 27. The Odd Fellows'

successful aud pleasftnt affair. About 100
persons including invited guests and la-

a social entertainment was held in the
lodge rooms. Tho lodge hire has forty
members and a good number of Indies of
the degree of Rebecca. The entire lodge

in their power to make a pleasant one.

a three foot rise on the falls it will only
be necesMiry for those versed in such
matters to take into consider-
ation the increased width of
ths river ted at the falls and watch the
fearful Qow of the mighty torrent as it
goes over them. It seems to your cor-
respondent that these peculiarities
coupled with the fact that the bottom and

The tannery of Colonel Holloway un-
der the very ab!o management of Mr.
John Armstrong is tnrning out large
quantities of the finest kind of sole har-
ness b gging and upper leather and some
beautiful calf goat and uglisn grain
leather. Wonder if the average lexas cow
man knows how much valuable property
he destroys every time he elaps a big
branding iron over a stec-r. If some" of
them will walk through this tannery here
and look at the big tine hidis here and
see thorn when split into two sides of
leather one of which is a smooth perfect
sample worth live or six dollars the
other absolutely worthless by being
burnod with brauding all over they would
be convinced that there is a big leak there
nml it oucrht to be stooped. What's the

well?
