Spring Garden Setting
Far Flower Show Held By
Sweetwater Garden Club
In a West Texas spring garden setting designed to ex-
press the theme, "April Winds Are Magical, the Sweet-
water Garden Club presented its spring flower show Wed-
nesday at the Legion Hut.
Winners Later
Show hours were from 3 until 7 p.m. Entries in thirteen
classes of arrangements and an equal number of classes in
horticulture were judged before the show was opened to
the public. Winners names and placing were listed on cards
with each entry for visitors to see. (Names of the winners
are to be published in a later edition. >

Another central feature of in-
terest was in front of the stage—

both ruffled from the table edge

som pottery and peach blossom
crystal, with pink bowls and clear
crystal stems, were supplied by
Toler's Jewelry for the table set-
tings Rolled pink napkins were by
each plate.
Crystals
Centering the table was an ar-
rangement of pink ranunculuses
with stripped, podded redbud
branches on which were hung
crystal pendants. The arrangement
was in a silver bowl, and it was
flanked by tail pink tapers in sil-
ver holders.

color and fragrance and a wide
variety of striking arrangements
and "home-grown" flowers from
the gardens of club members One
table was devoted to house plants,
special study project of the Sweet-
water Garden Club this year.
Flowers
Amaryllis, iris In all colors, hon-
eysuckle, roses, pansies. corn-
flowers. pussywillow, snapdragons,
and other flowers were among
those used in the arrangements.
Mrs. John Majors was general
chairman for the show. Mrs Chas.
R. Griggs, club president, was in
charge of judging. Mrs. F. N. Ken-
non was chairman of staging and
properties. Mrs. Charles E. Paxton
of schedule. Mrs. C. K, Griggs of
awards. Mrs. W. R Sommerville
of entries. Mrs Charles Ntmn of
classification. Mrs. Buck Wetsel of
publicity, Mrs. Henry Cook of
clean-up, and Mrs. C. S. Perkins
of hospitality.
Housewarming Held
At Densmore Home
Twenty-seven friends surprised
Mrs A X Densmore Wednesday
morning with a "housewarming
at the home which she and Dr.
Densmore recently built and mov-
ed to at So. 4 Temple Court. Dr.
Densmore has been a dentist here
for several years, and the Dens-
mores have three sons. David,
Don. and Gregory', and a daughter,
Cindy.
Those bringing gifts and partici-
pating were Mmes Allen Baker,
Bud Alldredge, J P. Windham.

Art Club's
Exhibit Tea
Tomorrow
Annual exhibit-tea of the Cre-
ative Art Club is being held from 3
to 5 p. m. tomorrow, Friday, in
St. Stephen's Mission Hall.
The exhibit will be open to the
public from 5 to 7 p. m.
Each member of the club is to
exhibit samples of her work for the
past year.
