The Henderson Times enumerating Several
of the hittorio features nf the 4 in of July
omits the important fact that on that day
there is a g neral combustion of tire crack-

Cikes anl small beer ripe aud that young
orators wrapping themselves in the folds ol
the American Dig soar away to heights of
glory on tbe pinions tf the American eagle
and fuithermore the day is generally as not
as though fresh from the furnaces of Ge-
henna. It says:
Tba 4lh of July is gnltlng-overy year
more historic. It has witnessed the nation's
birth; tbe death of throe presi.lmite; the as-

1801 in which the grxnt war measure! were
inaugurated; the surrender of Vicksburg;
and. lastly tbo sorrow of the w hole nation in
expectation ol the death of another pnsiilvnt.
It has been repeatedly I'oi.Ittuted as the day
of both national joy and sorrow peculiarly
