Rr. C. M. Jackson Dear Sir: You sug-
gested to mo before leaving Philadelphia to
take a few hollies of your' liilters along ns
a preventative aiiainst Yellow Fever which
is now raging here and in Now Orleans.
I did so and used it freely on my voiilo
homo. I was necompnnyed by several
Texians who also look it ns prescribed
none of ushnvinir hud Iho Fever except
myself. All passed through New Orlcons
without being ntlacketl iry llie epuicmic

bute their escape in n great measure to tho
uso of your excellent speettic. from wnni
I have heard from other sources and my
own experience. I havo no hesitation in
saving I believe llouf'lantl's German Bit.
tcrs an excellent article for tho prevention
of Yellow Fever nnd many oilier diseases
peculiar to the South if taken iu time and
as uircclcu. 1 ours iruiy.

Dr. C. M. Jackson Dear Sir: I sailed
from this poi't in August lust in Ihe bar-
quo "Jicindcor" of which I an. .Master
with a crew of ten men bound to Havana.
As I knew tlio Ye'Jow Fever was raging
with great virulence ilt i-at city mul had
heard of the good effects of fhti Billets y
preventing the nttucks of that terrible u.s-
ease 1 provided myself with ft supply of it.
Before reaching my port I commenced the
administration of the Bitters regularly to
all on board. On reaching Havana I
found a number of vcs.icls in the harbor
. iitn m-ows of which tho Fever was
.....T.i:- cri-ent ravnires: on board of
thrco of thent not ft soul was left alive
the Fever had carried all oil'. Naturally
great alarm prevailed. I am most happy
to snythat with the exception of one of my
crew who deserted in Havania we have all
ciuiio buck-safe and sound qot one of us
having been nttneked. I believe Iloofland s
Gorman Bitters to be an excellent medi-
cine and am satisfied of its salutary effects
as a preventative of Yellow Fever as it is
a very unusual thing Cor Tpssllv w!"' f0
manv persons on board lo visit te island
of Cuba in August or September and re-
turn without the loss of tit least a portion
