Tenth Year uudcr tho present manage-

that time in tho face of many difficulties to
build up a respectable newspaper in this
county and incidentally to make it a benefit
to this country and community. We can say
f a truth that during the greater part of
wid period wo have in our desire to pub-
lish a creditable paper spent more money
on it than tho patrouago bestowed on it war-
ranted aud are rtill doing so. Our hope
hw been and in that our people would ft-
na'ly wake up to the importance of the sub-
jeet of well sustaining their home paper so
that wo might secure at least a fair return
for all our labors and expenditures.
Iu Again referring to the matter now we
do not propose more than to call attention
to the subject. The Fbee Pbess is well
known and speaks for itself. Both as a lo-
ea! and general newspaper it is better than
ever before. This we believe is generally
understood and conceded and people only
nne 1 bo awakened to the duty of better sua-
tuning it so that it may continue to grow

'The Texas department of the List Musical
World contaius the photograph of James
E. Kinzer the colored boy of San Antonio
who has gained a good deal of notoriety
from bis life-like pencil drawings of various
local characters in San Antonio. Some of
Jim's sketches though of oourse rude are
very true to nature and Mr. J. M. Hunt of
this city who edits the Texas department of
the Musical World considers him as great a
prodigy in his line as Blind Tom.
We clip the above from the San Antonio
Express. When last at that city we saw
some of the sketches of this negro boy.
They are quite remarkable considering that
he is only IS years of age and was brought
up as a common field hand. Ho is from
