IN MEMORY OE AL-
FRED BROOKS COFIELD
Peaceful is thy rest, and sweet
Thiaie e>'eli<ls Angels kiswed to
sleep.
Thou lutsl gone to dwell! in
Cuuriis above,
To sing in the Angels' Choir,
songs of Holly Love.
Thou didst not wen reach man
hood's prime,*
We feel thou wast (willed hefort
thy time,
But the All-Wise Cod, he know
cth best,
He givoth his beloved this
sweet and peaceful rest.
The Gracious Lord for tilice he
so cared—
Much of Life's suffering thou
hast been spared.
Angels bore thee away from
Earth's shadows and' gloom
To ia Land where roses are al-
ways in bloom.
Earth haiih its trials sore, a
mist hath clouded the way,
But thy brief, good life, dear
Fred,
Shall ever point us
To that Land of Etcrnail Day.
And now dear Sister, who
weeps thro' the hours;
Fred sweetly rests on banks of
Asphodel flowers.
So happy is he in the Heaven-
ly Light.
Untouched' by a shadow of
pain.
Just yield him with faith
To the Master of Life
'Tw just for a while—
For others, try to be happy
again.
His grave, dear Sister, is only
an open gate,
Which closed when he passed
t h ro.'
One day an Angel will draw
back the bars
,And bid you, enter, too.
Thou wilt find him on the Oth-
er Side
Waiting with all the glorified,
Together thou wilt dwell for-
evermore
With al/l the loved Ones gone
before.
