by OWC for
coming month
“A treasure Chest of Crafts”
is the theme of the Ft. Hood Of-
ficers’ Wives Club’s annual
Arts and Crafts Fair. The fair
will be held Oct. 6 from 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m. in the Ballroom of the
Ft. Hood Officers’ Club.
More than 25 tables will be
filled with such handcrafts as
a wood a
macreme pen and ink oils and
acrylics knitted and crocheted
items Christmas stockings and
ornaments of all kinds toys
dolls patchwork pillows and
doll clothes.
The fair is the major fund
raising project for the OCW
thus twenty percent of the pro-
ceeds from each booth will go
to the OWC as a donation to the
Army Distaff Hall and to meet
the year’s operating expenses.
The arts and crafts fair is
open to OWC members and
their guests with free ad-
mission. Memberships will be
on sale at this time.
The main topics discussed at
the September OWC Executive
Board meeting were the up-
coming tours offered by the
club.
The first and most popular
tour is to Laredo. The weekend
shopping trip leaves promptly
at 8 a.m. on Nov. 3 from the
Ft. Hood Officers’ Club and
costs only $30 to cover the bus
roundtrip and one meal. Mem-
bers can then return on Sat.
Nov. 4 or on Sun. Nov. 5 if they
prefer.
Reservations and fees must
be turned in by Oct. 18 and can-
celations will be accepted until
Oct. 25. For further informa-
tion call Louise Marshall at
532-6159.

fels/W urstfest Tour will be
Thurs. Nov. 9 leaving the Of-
ficers’ Club at 9 a.m. and re-
turning by midmight. The
Wurstfest features singing
societies traditional German
bands dancing groups and
sausages of every description
New ra ls offers a
Heritage Exhibit art show and
sale and a gardenfest all
within walking distance. True-
ly something for every in-
terest.
The fee for this tour is $15.50
and covers the bus fare and ad-
mission to both the Wursthall
and W tf grou nds.

Oct. 31 by calling Joann Guen-
ther at 526-5778 or Susan
Craven at 526-7830.
To meet the postal deadlines
for arc els last minute
Christmas shopping can be
done on the Dallas Tour Wed.
Nov. 29. The fee of $17 covers
the roundtrip bus trip to the
North Park Mall home of some
of Dallas’ finest stores.
Members leave from the Of-
ficers’ Club at 8 a.m. and re-
turn between 9 and 10 p.m.

Craven.
The Annual Tour of Homes
takes on a holiday flare Tues.
Dec. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
when select Ft. Hood quarters
are ate early for
Christmas. Tickets go on sale
for $1 at the Nov. 21 OWC
luncheon or can be purchased
at the Officers’ Club on the day
of the tour.
