Hygenist Jean Soloman will be conducting school screening
visits during the month of February at Fort Hood schools.
Screening schedules are: Clarke Elementary School 8:45-
10:30 a.m. Feb. 7 Kindergarten First Grade School 8:45-10:30
a.m. Feb. 13 Duncan Elementary School 8:45-10:30 a.m. Feb.
20 Meadows Elementary School 8:45-10:30 a.m. Feb. 27. Fol-
lowing the screenings each child will be given a report stating
whether any problems were found or not.
Child Development Center:
The Evening College in coordination with the Child Develop-
ment program and the Central Texas Association for the Edu-
cation of Young Children announces it’s Spring 1985 Work-
shop. Numerous programs are available for the four session
workshop. Lunch is included and C.E.U.’s will be awarded.
Pre-registration is encouraged. The workshop is scheduled
for Feb. 9 at the Fort Hood Child Development Center 8
a.m.-3:45 p.m. Registration is $12.

States Army will hold its February Coffee on Feb. 7 at 9:30
a.m. The hostess is W. Brinker 522339-1 Biloxi Circle Fort
Hood. For more information concerning the coffee call 532-

service will operate as a curb service Mon.-Fri. a.m.-3 p.m.
providing milk eggs bread and assorted family needs. Initial
plans are to service each housing area once a week. Schedules
outlining days and times of service are being developed and
will be published at a later date. Village mayors are POC’s
until schedules are published.

Crime Prevention Week:Febru
ary 10-16 has been declared Crime Prevention Week national-
ly. In response to that the III Corps Crime Prevention Section
will sponsor an Identichild Program at the Main Post Ex-
change Feb. 16 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Darnall program schedule:
The Darnall Army Community Hospital Medical Explorer
Post announces its 1985 winter schedule of programs. All
programs will be held in hospital’s classroom No. 1 and will
start at 7 p.m. The programs are: Nursing Services Feb. 12
Pediatrics March 12 and Veterinary Medicine April. In-
terested high school students can call 288-8554/8353.
Thrift Shop
This year the Fort Hood Thrift
Shop will again present Educational Awards to deserving
young people in the area. There will be two categories: the
Traditional High School Graduate and the Non-Traditional/
Vocational Stipend. Traditional high school applicants must
have a valid military I.D. card reside with their parents or
legal guardian in the Central Texas area and attend high
school in either Lampasas Coryell or Bell counties. The ap-
plicant must be a 1985 high school graduate and be available
to meet with the committee for an interview at a designated
time and complete the application. The non-traditional/voca-
tional stipend is awarded to spouses planning on furthering
their education. The award is based on available transcripts
letters of recomendation the application and the interview
with the Stipend Committee. Applications may be picked up
at your school counselor’s office the Thrift Shop Officer’s
Club or NCO club. Applications must be postmarked by Feb.
28 and mailed to Award Committee P.O. Box 5103 Fort
Hood Texas 76544.
