The Imagery Analyst is an in-
dispensible member of the 15th
Military Intelligence Battalion
(AE) team. Without them the
unit could not perform its mis-
sion.
IT IS THE task of the IA to
work with aerial photographs
regularly provided to him by
the flight section of the batta-
lion scanning each individual
frame to detect possible infor-
mation which may be of value
to the commander.
Although trained to analyze
many different types of film
used by the different compo-
en ts of th nited S tates
armed forces the 15th MI IAs
work solely with the film used
by the OV-1D Mohawk. The
Mohawk is capable of using
black and white color camouf-
lage detection and other film
designed for use at night. In
ajddition SLAR (side-looking
siirborne radar) film is also
analyzed by the IA section.
