SEVERAL IMPORTANT blood donation
issues have been brought before the public in
the past six months.
The most important issue was the restriction
of blood donations by Desert Storm veterans.
This news took all of us by surprise.
It became apparent there was a need for a
medium to inform prospective donors about
important issues and to present information
related to blood and platelet donations. The
communication medium needed to be instantly
recognizable and effective.
This new column Bloodline was established
to fill that need.
Donors are the most important people in our
operation.
Through this column we plan to keep you up
to date on important issues and present infor-
mation about all the aspects of our operation.
It will feature blood drive schedules donor
incentives information on HIV and hepatitis
as related to blood the donation process and
what happens to donated blood interviews
with community leaders and regular donors
