Anna Louise Parrish, 86, of Orange, Texas, died Friday, February 13, 2004, at Oakwood Manor
in Vidor. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Sunday, February 15, 2004, at Claybar Funeral Home
Chapel in Orange. Rev. Sam Knight, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will
follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Mo. Mrs. Parrish was born in Joplin, Mo., and was a
longtime resident of Orange. She was a homemaker, a member of First Presbyterian Church and a
former Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jack L. Parrish of
Orange; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Barbara Parish of Orange and Jack and Margaret
Parrish ofJoplin, Mo.; sister Bertha Wetzel of Springfield, Mo.; brother, Walter Hulen ofJoplin, Mo,;
eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Frank Lee Carter Sr., 85, of Orange, Texas, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at Claybar Funeral
Home Chapel in Orange. Rev. Lynn Ashcraft, pastor of North Orange Baptist Church, will officiate.
A native of Winston County, Miss., Mr. Carter was a long time resident of Orange. He was a retired
Supervisor for Chevron and was also a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during World War II. He
was a member of the North Orange Baptist Church, a former Boy Scout Leader and former manager
of Little League Baseball. He Is survived by his wife Nancy Cleo Carter of Orange; sons, Charles
Carter and his wife, Linda, also of Orange and Frank Carter Jr. of Houston; brother, Charles Carter
of Louisville, Miss.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Joyce Laverne Smith, 78, of Orange, Texas, died February 17, 2004, in Beaumont. Funeral services
will be at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2004, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Rev.
Bob Simmons and Rev. Benny Henry will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest
Memorial Gardens in Orange. Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Orange. She was a homemaker
and a member of Maranatha Christian Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice
Dudley Smith Sr. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie R. and Renee Smith of
Orange, Maurice D. and Elena Smith of Orange; daughter Connie J. Yu of Orange; daughter and son-
in-law, Tonya Kay and Eddie Burns of Orange; brother; Willie Henry of Winnie; 12 grandchildren
and 7 great-grandchildren.

Arthur George Gillingham, 80, of Bridge City, passed away Tuesday at his residence. He is a
retired master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 27 years of service. He was a life member of
American Legion Post 49. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. At Dorman Funeral
Home in Orange. Following cremation, Mr. Gillingham's cremains will be interred in Autumn Oaks
Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Annie Gillingham, Bridge City; sons; Kieran Gillingham
and wife, Beverly, Orange and Christopher Gillingham, Bridge City, Brothers; Robert Gillingham,
Orange and Richard Gillingham, Denver, Colorado. Sister; Arvella McCure; Franklin, Pennsylvania.32
