Adolphus Green, 85, of Orange, Texas died on January 27, 2009 at Harbor Hospice of
Beaumont after a short illness. Mr. Green was a native of Weiss, Louisiana and a
resident of Orange, TX for many years. He was a retired truck driver and a faithful
member of Salem United Methodist Church in Orange. He had served on the United
Methodist Men committee for several years. Home going celebration will be at 12:00
noon Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church located at 402 West John Street with
Pastor Dr. Carolyn McCall officiating. Interment will be held at the Houston National
Cemetery in Houston, TX under the direction of Colonial Memorial Chapel. He leaves to
cherish his memories his wife, Betty Joe Green of Orange, TX. Two sons, Adolphus
Green, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Herman Watkins of New Orleans, LA. Four daughters, Enola
Williams of Atlanta, GA, Jewel Morris and Marie Hall both of Slidell, LA and Shelia
Lewis of New Orleans, LA. One step daughter; Kida Sonnier of Houston, TX. He also
leaves behind 32 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren

John E. Walton, 67, died Friday, February 6, 2009 in Winnie. Funeral Services will be
at 10:00 a.m., Monday February 9, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A
graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, at Attowa Cemetery outside of St.
Augustine. John was born on August 29, 1941 in Chenieo, TX. He was the son of Hollis
and Leola (Counts) Walton and worked at American General as an Insurance Agent. He
was a member of the Bridge City Jaycees and Harmony Baptist Church as well as a
musician in a local band called The Sensations. John was preceded in death by his wife,
Jan Walton and parents. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, John Tomas
Walton, Scotty Walton, Donald Ray & Pam Walton, Joseph Hollis Walton and Randall
Wayne Walton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by
his brothers and sisters, Billie Evans, Margaret Henson, Grace Hall, and Hollis
"Buddy" Walton.
Jimmie Ray "Bud" Sterns, 72, died Thursday night, February 5, 2009 at his home in
Bridge City. The only son of D.Q. (Quincy) Sterns and Lessie Maye Stems, he was born
November 24, 1936, in Grayson, Louisiana. Mr. Sterns was a draftsman and owned J.R.
Sterns Drafting Service in Bridge City. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday,
February 9, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, with burial at Hillcrest
Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Lewis of Illinois.
Bud is precededk in death by his father, and two-step brothers. He is survived by his
mother; Lessie Mayes Sterns of Bridge City and daughter, Chrystal Stems of Bridge City
and her mother; Carole Stemrns of Groves; sisters, Billie Downey and Jan Leonard of
Bridge City, Jo Voight of Nederland and Judy Escagne of Groves; and two
grandchildren.
Frances Josephine Poole, 92, of Orange died February 7, 2009. Funeral services will be
at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Rev. Barry Bradley will be officiating.46
