Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Joe was born May 1, 1916 in Orange. She
was the daughter of William L. and Sarah (Cunningham) Shepherd, Joe was a school
teacher for Orange and Vidor ISD. She is preceded in death by her son; Michael P.
Poole; husband, Paul Poole; brother; Guilford Shepherd; and parents, William and Sarah
Shepherd. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Barbara Lockridge of Los
Angeles, CA; two grandchildren and one great grandchild; sister; Laura Crain; and a host
of nieces and nephews.

Anton "Tony" Dal Sasso, 86, of Orange, died Sunday February 8, 2009 at Harbor
Hospice in Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orange with the Rev.
Joseph P. Daleo, pastor; serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens near Bridge City. Services will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home
of Orange. Born in Clinton, Indiana on May 26, 1922, Tony was the son of Christopher
and Madeline (Gromola) Dal Sasso. He graduated from Wabash College in
Crawfordsville, Indiana with degrees in History and Economics and he was a veteran of
WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy Air Corp. In 1955, Tony married Margaret E. Dunlevy
and upon moving to Orange founded Dall Sasso Enterprises. As a builder, he was
involved in the construction of over 4000 homes, apartments complexes and many
commercial projects in Orange and the surrounding area. Tony was a member of the
Lion's Club, Orange Rotary; Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, Delta Tau
Delta Fraternity and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Home
Builders Association of Southeast Texas and a founding member of the Apartment
Association of Southeast, TX. Tony is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Dal
Sasso; daughter; Chrisleigh Dal Sasso; two grandchildren brother; Mario A. "Ray" Dal
Sasso; all of Orange and sister, Lynn Slagle of Tulsa Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers
will be Bill Mello, Jerome Go, Chris Slegle, Kurt Slagle, Rod Dal Sasso and Harry Joe
Wolf. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Howard Williams, Kelly Price, Hayward Go, Dr.
Elwood Hood, Dr. Jim Cloud, Ernie Willey, Jack Murray and Stump Weatherford.

Clifford P. 'Butch' Alford, Jr. 63, of Orangefield, Texas, passed away at St. Lukes
Hospital in Houston, on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Funeral services will be February
14, 2009, at First Christian Church of Orangefield. Officiating will be Pastor Bobby
Granger and Rev. James Moore. Burial will follow at Alford Family Cemetery in
Orangefield. Clifford was born on September 24, 1945, in Orange, Texas. He was the
con of Clifford P. and Olga (Granger) Alford, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alford; mother Olga 'Sis' Alford; sons, Ernest Alford,
of Dallas, James Alford, of Silsbee; daughter, Jeni Johnson and husband Jeremiah, of
Lumberton; step-sons, Leah, of Lumberton, Jason Bearce and wife Kristin, of Pasadena,
Brian Gibbs and wife Brooke, of Bridge City; step-daughter, Romamdy Gibbs, of
Orangefield; eight grandchildren; brother, Avery Alford and wife Dela of Bridge City,
Robert Alford and wife Julie, of Orange; sister Peggy Alford of Orangefield and Kathy
Tillman and husband Clem, of Orangefield.47
