Sammie Sydney Spector, 95, of Orange passed away of natural causes at his son's
home, James Spector, Monday, February 23, in Vidor. Funeral services will be at 1:00
p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating well be Rev. Kevin Brown
of First Baptist Church of Mauriceville. Burial will follow at Hebrew Rest Cemetery in
Orange. Sammie was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 6, 1913, the son of Joseph
Harry and Sarah (Rosen) Spector. He was co-owner of J.H. Spector and Son's Wrecking
and Salvage During WWII, he was a welder leaderman in the shipyard. He was preceded
in death by his wife, Ruby Merele Wright Specter, son, David Spector; grandson, Josh
Spector, brothers, Murray Spector and Toby Spector; sisters, Violet Ableman and Anita
Jimmerson. Those left to cherish his memory are sons and daughters-in-law, Willie and
Patsy Spector of West Orange and James and Rose Spector of Vidor; daughters and sons-
in-law, Sandra and Willard Lanier of West Orange and Mollie and Rick Jones of
Houston; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great great-
grandchildren.

Jackie Thompson, 76, died February 24, 2009, after a lengthy illness. She was born to
Phil and Olga Stephens in Sulphur Springs, TX. She finished Lutcher Stark High School
in 1949, and was a member of the Bengal Guards. In 1950 she married her husband of 58
years, H. Dale Thompson. She is also survived by her son Hammon D. Thompson and
wife Glenda; son, Stephen W. Thompson and wife Cynthia; daughter Cyndi Tindel and
husband Jack; five grandchildren and her twin sister, Gerry Frensley and husband Bob of
Kemp, TX; her brother-in-law, Fred J. Thompson and wife Darleen; and numerous nieces
and nephews. Jackie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Orange since 1961 and
was employed by Sears for 15 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February
28, 2009, in the Claybar Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am. with Rev. Barry Bradley of
the First Baptist Church of Orange officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens near Bridge City.

Paul E. LeBlanc, Sr., 69, of Orange, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009
at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. He was born January 3, 1940
to Felinese and Dennis LeBlanc in Mermentau, Louisiana. He has been a resident of the
Gorlden Triangle area for over 60 years. Paul worked as a construction driver with the
Teamsters for over 40 years before he became disabled. He was a member of St. Henry
Catholic Church in Bridge City. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am. Tuesday, March
3, 2009 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel, at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Port
Arthur. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. He is
preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Wavy Young, Hilda Smith, Joyce Hoffpauir
and Bernice Viator; his brothers Mickey LeBlanc and Robert LeBlanc, Sr. He is survived
by his loving wife Rose Adams LeBlanc of Orange, Texas, his daughters Christine
Herman and her husband Terry Sr. of Orange, TX; Kenda Trotti and her husband Artis of
Orange, TX, Elizabeth Scott and her husband Johnny of Daisetta, TX, his sons Paul E.51
