The Texas & Pacific railroad has
given official notice that it will allow
round trip farea of a fare and a fifth
to the State Christian Endeavor Con
vention to be held in Abilene June 15
to 18. The special rate was made at

the request ot Abilene business in-
terests. The T. & P. further gave notice that
all other roads in the state had grant-
ed a rate of a fare and one-third for
the convention.
It is expected that between 500 and
1000 delegates and visitors will at-
tend the convention which will be

marry within flvo weeks cost tho life
of Edgar R. Clayton who was acci-
dentally killed last night. A few min-
utes boforo ho died Clayton had writ-
ten a nolo cautioning his fiancee
about handllnc tha gun.
"Clayton was killed nt tha homo of
hj brother II. I Clayton. 291C Fair
mount .street at 7 o'clock. His body
waa found by Mrs. Clayton who wna
in another part of tho houso when sho
heard tho report of tho pistol.
"It is presumed that ho was test-
ing tho mechanism of tho gun at tho
