Captain Cash hab received notice
from Austin that the local military
company will bo iiibpected within the
next ten days by a regular army offi-
cer. This is the labt formality to
make the company a full-fledged Nat-
ional Guard unit.
It was suggested In the telegram
that tbe local company be changed
Into a battery of artillery aa the ar-
tillery likely will get marching or
ders before any more of the units.
However efforts will be made to have
the loca.l organization turned into a
cavalry squadron as the men nrofer
that arm or tne service above the ar-
tillery. If tbi? request Is granted it

The baseball game between the
Faculty and Trustees of Simmons Col-
lege which was played on tbe Simmons
ball grounds Wednesday afternoon
was a success financially about $75.00
being realized for the campus fund.
Tho Faculty made 38 scores while the
Trustees got 37 men successfully over
the homo plate which shows Jhut the
game was hotly contested. The bpec-
tators were not expecting very much
