WASHINGTON Nov. 14 Mr. Muriel MacSwiney widow of
Terrcr.ce MacSwiney the Lord Mayor of Cork who died in prison on
a hunger strike and two others of
the British embassy today elected to remain in t- House of Deten-
tion over night and refused bond for their apper ance at a hearing
before a United States commisjioner tomorrow. The other six ac-
cepted bor.d furnished by Thomas W. Lyons nation-1 secretary of
the American Association for the Recognition of the Irish Republic
of which the women are members. Remaining with Mrs. MacSwiney
were Mary Ann Nolan of Jacksonville Fla. who is over 80 years of
age and Miss Minnie Kearney.
