A big crowd from Bryan went
oflt by the special train on the I.
& G. X. yesterday afternoon to I
witness the ball game between the
Cincinnati national league team and
the A. and M. boys. The profes-
sionals proved too strong far the
students and a score of 8 to o was
the result.
The A. & M. boys played a very
good game considering what they
were up against. A peculiarity of
the game was that all the runs
were made in one inning.

Announcement was made yester
day of an important business deal
by the terms of which the proposed
new Planters' compress is elimi
nated from the local field and the
members of the new company share
the stock of the Bryan Press Com-
pany. The deal provides for
amending the charter of the Bryan
Press Company and increasing the
authorized capital stock from $ 30
000 to $45000. The plant of the
consolidated company will be mate
rially enlarged and improved and
every facility provided for handling
all the cotton that may be brought
to Bryan. The Bryan brick ware
house which was purchased by the
Bryan PressCompany the past year
will continue t be owned and con.
trolled by the company.
The stockholders of the Planters'
company will retain the ground
purchased in the northern part of
' town upon which it was intended
to build the new press for such
other feasible enterprise as the f u
tare may make expedient. Parties
in Bryan have united with business
men at Mart in a transfer of the
contract with the Webb Press Com
pany for the new press intended for
Bryan and the press will be erect-
ed at Mart a splendid location now
without a press in time for the next
cotton season.

A horse ran away with a delivery wagon
on Main street yesterday and the wagon
struck the hind wheels of a buggy In which
were seated Air. M. Register and Miss
Agnes Register of Kurt en. Mrs. Register
was thrown out and bruised up some. The
runaway horse carried the delivery wagon
some distance further smashing it up and
breaking loose from it.
A. A. Farley returned Sunday after an
extended absence during which he (pent
some time in St. Louis Baltimore and
New York. Mr. Farley had an attack of
pneumonia while absent from the effects
of which hi friend are glad to note he ha
about recovered. Mr. Farley 'say he is
glad to get back to the South.
