Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Reid left
Wednesday for Altus where they
will visit a few days then go to
Canyon City Texas where it is
probable they will locate. Mr.
Reid has been editor and pub-

pa.st three years and has built it
up from a little real estate adver-
tising sheet to a first class local
paper with the largest circula-
tion of any pajx;r in a town of
this size perhaps in Oklahoma.

Chicago. June 2 Frank Gotch
retained his title to the heavy-
weight wrestling championship
of the world last night winning
in straight falls from Stanislaw
Zbyszko of Poland before 10.000
people at the Coliseum. The first
fall Went to the Humbolt strong
man in six and one fourth sec-
onds with a bar arm and half
Xelsou. He took the second with
a bar arm and wrist lock in
rfter a desperately fought
bout in which honors were even
for twenty minutes.
In his dressing room after the
match Gotch took a solemn oath
to forever quit the mat game.
'It's my last battle as a champ-
ion'' said the bitr Iowan. as he
rolled over on the rubbing board.
''I am through for good and Leo
Pardello has taken my tights.
Never again for Frank I'm go-
ing home to lead the simple life
raise cattle corn and to forget
my troubles. "
Gotch outgeneraled and out-
classed his ponderous foe in the
first bout which was over in a
jiffy. The second bout developed
into a gruelling slam-bang affair
from the outset with Gotch ren-
dered doubly confident by his
first triumph master at every
turn.
Gotch was as cool as the pro-
verbial cucumber at every stage
of the game while Zbyszko
plainly showed distress. Both
men were battling desperately
near the noathwest corner of the
arena when Frank acting like a
cat suddenly slammed Zbyszko
toward the ropes with a toe hold
that spelled certain defeat.
An expression betokening fear-
ful pain spread over the Pole's
countenance. He wiled and Gotch
swinging a bar arm and waist
lock together in deadly fashion
had taken .the second fall and
preserved his name as the
world's champion winning in
27:30.
The two mat giants closed for
a purseof $2:)00() the bulk ofj
which will go to Gotch. Little
betting was reported.
