Actions That Are Not Afraid
Of The Court of Truth
One thing we found in the recent
election that is more prevailing than we
thought, anil that is the disposition of a
group to try and force their candidate on
others at; the point of a threat to with-
hold some form of "doing a favor" if the
bidding was not forthcoming.
That spirit has been gradually taking
hold) in Denison for the past several years,
until it becomes an obsession with a certain
group and they got so bold as to bring
uhat weapon out on friends of long stand-
ing, only to break down the friendship anil
be told that they did not want friends that
they had to buy.
We see where it got things in securing
enough votes—it failed. Now those par-
ties who went about with such tactics have
lost the esteem of former friends and they
are going to have a hard time regaining
'tlheir jduce in the hearts of those who have
been lost to them.
It is one of the bad things of life
that people think the only way to get
their desires is to either buy or boycott.
When money or threats will not talk,
'hen they are at their rope's end.
The good people in this world who do
things bei-ause they believe they are right
not only in the majority, but they are on
the) increase. There is none so blind as
those who will not see this.
But let us hope that those who have
tried the tactics indicated have learned a
lasting lesson and that they will for their
own sake as well as the desire of those in-
jured by them, here and now foreswear
any such tactics in the future and let their
actions be such as they are willing to meet
in the open where men do not fear the
truth.

NEW BRITISH BOMB IS
HEAVY HITTER
A new type of British bomb,
tjsed1 for the first time in an
airplane raid on Etnden, Germany,
this week, has five time* the
blasting effect of any bomb pre-
viously dropped by the Royal Air
Force, the Ministry for Aircraft
Production said today.
"The bom>bs are filled with
some extremely effective explo-
sive capable of destroying build-
ings over a wide area," the Minis-
try said. "The concussion woulJ
be felt many miles away."
"The Ministry for Aircraft Pro-
duction has for some time been
conducting research work which
led to the production of th
bombs.
"Its constant endeavor will be
to make them still larger, bettei
and' more cat as tropic in their ef-
fects.
"Tn iview of the devastating p;>
ture of the| bombs, which are o
very large size, it v.-as di.fficul•
to find sufficiently large unin
habited area in this country fo
testing their blasting: power."

Hurrah For Co-Operation
That fine statement of intent
to cooperate now with the newly
elected mayor as coming from
Dr. Paul Pearce, connected with
the City hospital, and which
group opposed strongly the elec-
tion of Dr. T J Long as mayor,
will be appreciated by all of us.
That's the only way for good peo-
ple to do—forget the past and
get down to business for our be-
loved city. All of us may have
either thought severe things or
even said them—but that's the
American way of holding some oi
our elections. Now that the peopl
have spoken, it is time to end the
matter and settle down to mak-
ing this the best city in North
Texas. To have this good group
of physicians now in charge of
the City hospital show the spir-
it of the good sport is the thing
all will be glad to have mani-
fested. We are all for Oenison
and the best hospitalized city
in this part of the state. If we
will make it that it will be the
best asset we might possibly
have. t

People are funny, says a frien I
this week. He claims they will
praise you one day and crucify
you the next. He says he is grow-

picion.

Sunday was "Palm Sunday."
That was the day that the people
gathered and threw their gar-
ments and palm branches down in
front of the Saviour of men.
They sang ho"annahs to Him and
bowed in devotion to him.
But before the week was over
they were crying to crucify Him.
Some remained faithful, but they
did not have their way at the
time. But the right al^tiys comes
out on top. The world is keyed
to goodness and truth and right
prevailing. God made it that
way and he wants us, his believ-
ing and trusting children to be-
lieve it.
They crucified the one they
placed in the center as the figure
for Palm day. But lie could not
be kept in the grave. Truth can !
never be buried and put out of
circulation.
And there are enough goo 1
people on earth to always nnako
it a fine place to live. All w
need to do is not let suspicion
and doubt and ill temper get us
down and keep us there.
That little handful of followers

millions upon millions and His
Kingdom is destined to overcome

The New Ensemble Wallpapers
Whet goes with what is quite a problem with some of us, and
fery simple to others, whether it's in putting the right hat, coat, gloves
> ' mf? together or the right wallpapers in the hall, living room and
dining room. But trouble and uncertainty are van-
.shed now, for the uncertain ones by the new groups
or ensembles of the most enchanting wallpapers.
Experts, right at the beginning, in the design rooms
of the great wallpaper factories, have made these
combinations, so that color, scale, and variation of de-
sign have been harmonized and contrasted. Also, these
groups or ensembles are designed for different types
of houses and can be used in new, old, large and
small, formal and informal houses. For instance,
suppose you want to do over your hall, living room
and dining room. There will be three papers, quite
different, but making a harmonious whole for you to
use. Suppose your house is just medium size, of the
Colonial type. Then perhaps you will like the ensem-
ble we illustrate or something like it—there are
many variations.
A blocked, floral paper is used in the hull below, with a harmonizing
fripe in the living room on the right. In the dining raom which does
(it show, a scenic wallpaper was used. In my opinion, scenic papers a.e
better for ha^s
and dining rooms
than for living
rooms as we may
tire of the sceiva
if it is used in
a room where we
sit a good deal.
But in a hall, we
linger but we do
not stay, while
in the dinit g
room, conversa-
tion and gay
chatter is the
rule and an
amusing coh rl'iil
background in
pleasant.
I say all ihis
because you can
use a scenic
pattern in a
wallpaper group
in either place. These grouped papers are, of course, interchangeable, but
it is wise to consider where you will put them. When there is u design with
fruit in it^ the paper is intended for the dining room, but many an old
house in New England had such designs in the hall, so either is pofrible:
a stripe or a stripe with a floral intertwined, a very smart trend just
now, is a good choice for the living room. Remember, however, that a
simple stripe or a plain wall is a good background for multi-colored
and flowered chintz draperies and slip covers, and that a floral wall-
paper makes a good background for plain colored or striped curtains,
with floral slipcover or some upholstered pieces. So, again, choose your
paper with those facts in mind. As in nil decorating you must consider
the room as a whole, and to a more limited extent, the rooms that open
into each other as a whole. It's all very simple really and especially
so now that suggested combinations are to be had.
Color of Woodwork *
I can hear the questions (you know I often give informal talks)
"but how about the color of the woodwork. What should it match?" 1
As a rule it should match the color or tone of the background of the '
paper especially in larger rooms. However, when discretion i« ''«ed. most
rules are made to be broken and so it is in this case. Ti may be 1
preen in the design of the paper which can be used for window frames, |
doors and mantel. In a hall or dining room, even red or yellow is often
gay and attractive and gives a lot of distinction. "Ties-in" as it's called.;
rn a hall in an informal house, the stairway may be of the color except,
of course, the hand rail which is best stained and waxed,
