Grayson County Frontier Village

Formed in 1966 to save the oldest home in Sherman for m the bulldozer, Grayson County Frontier Village organized and leased for $1 a site embracing 17 acres in Loy Park when the Bass home was relocated and later restored. The first log school in the county was donated to the Village which became the official museum of Grayson County.

Through the years since the Village has added nine more pioneer homes, a large collection of mule-drawn farm implements and several other buildings housing items of historical interest. Five of the homes have Texas Historical Markers. Many other historical items are housed in a museum built in 1990.
