State bank examiners to verity audits
A program of direct
verification of custom-
ers' dep....it and loan bal-
ances in state charter-
ed banks in Texas is
planned by the Texas
Banking Department.
J. M. Falkner, bank-
ing commissioner, said
during future examina-
tions, examiner person-
nel will mail verification
forms to bank custom-
ers whose accounts are
selected on a random
sampling basis.
The forms will request
the customer to verify
the deposit or loan bal-
ance indicated, to indi-
cate any discrepancies he
might note, and to return
the form to the Banking
Department.
In the event of differ-
ences or discrepancies,
further contact with the
customer will be made
by Banking Department
personnel.
Similar programs al-
ready are in limited use
by various bank super-
vision agencies of the fed-
eral government.
"It is hoped that the
banking public will not be
unduly concered upon the
receipt of these requests
for verification of its
banking activities, and
bankers are being asked ;
to publicize the project
in the locales," Falkner
said.
Thank you
Our hearts overflow
with sincere apprecia-
tion for all who express-
ed their love and sym-
pathy in so many com-
forting ways during our
recent sorrow. We are
deeply grateful to all of
you. May God bless each
of you.
